Borrowed is a different kind of rental company, focused on bringing unique, mismatched, and whimsical touches to any event. Our available products include vintage china, flatware and glassware, linens, table accessories and decor.
We offer a full range of event styling services in addition to our one-of-a-kind rentals.Whether it be your wedding, bridal shower, birthday, baby shower, bat mitzvah, tea party, luncheon, corporate or holiday event, Borrowed is here to provide unique service that is uniquely you! We even love seeing our pieces grace the big screen as props! Currently, we are servicing the NYC and New England region.
In 2014, Borrowed worked with Chef Bill Taibe (James Beard Nominated 4 times) to open Kawa Ni Restaurant in Westport, CT featuring our vintage china and vintage Asian decor. This project was so much fun that we have expanded to work with Fortina Restaurant Group in Armonk & Rye Brook, NY & Stamford, CT. As of 2017, they also expanded, adding Yonkers and Brooklyn! Most recently our plates & bowls have graced the tables at Bar Sugo in Norwalk, CT , The Spread in Greenwich, CT and Cherry Point in Brooklyn, NY. Looking to add that vintage flair to your restaurant? Let us help!
Lauren has been mismatching vintage china and flatware since 2011. In 2014 Lauren Kreter opened Borrowed, expanding into stylizing and sourcing for private and corporate events and homes. Lauren's love for everything vintage started at an early age when she would travel near and far with her family as her parents scoured for the next "piece" to complete their ever growing collections. Lauren is also heavily involved with the Westport Farmers Market, and in 2017 took a role on the Board of Directors. She is passionate about supporting local and the three R's that lead her to creating this company! She loves bringing back the love of something old and unique to your table and seeing people smile. You can find Lauren filling her days going to many a flea market, farmers markets, visiting local farms, exclusive antique shops or the tiniest mom and pop shops she can get too! Her personal favorite collections include her cow creamers (surprise, surprise!! ) which she shares with her niece Jane... Mooo!
